Opening Your Own Therapy Private Practice? Start Here.

When I first launched my own private practice, I heard plenty of advice—and not all of it was helpful. More than one person told me to take “faith” off my website if I wanted to be taken seriously.

But, I chose to trust God’s plan over the world’s wisdom.

And He proved faithful.

I lead a thriving multidisciplinary group practice in Hanover, Pennsylvania, offering both counseling and wellness services to clients across PA and MD.

Now, I also coach other women to do the same—building God-honoring, impactful, and sustainable businesses that reflect their values and serve their purpose.

Whether you’re a new therapist or have been in the business of counseling others for decades, you might be considering opening your own private practice. It can be confusing and intimidating to begin this process, but solid coaching from someone with experience (Hey there!) can make the path forward clearer and empower you to pursue this venture with confidence.

So, what does private practice coaching look like?

Our process is built on five key pillars to ensure you feel good about moving forward and achieve success as you define it:

  1. Faith-Focused Approach

We’ll build your business on biblical values, not hustle culture. I understand this approach isn’t for everyone. But, if you are a person of faith, then you know just how important this aspect of business (and life) really is to you and what you’re building. I’ll help you grow your practice while cultivating and maintaining your peace, your purpose, and your integrity.

  2. Community Over Competition

I’m a firm believer that we rise by lifting others. I’m what you might call a “girl’s girl” because I truly love cheering on other women. And, you won’t find gatekeeping here. Through our coaching, I’ll offer you encouragement, collaboration, wisdom, and my honest experience of starting and running a private practice I love.

  3. Proven Experience

As someone who has built and expanded my own private practice, I’ve walked firsthand the road you’re considering. I know what works—and what to avoid. I’ll share what I’ve learned from past hiccups, so you can learn from them too without having to experience them yourself.

  4. Practical Tools and Strategy You Can Actually Implement

One of the hardest parts of doing anything new is just getting started. Those first steps can feel overwhelming and confusing, especially if you’re not sure where to go. When we work together, you’ll receive step-by-step guidance, templates, systems, and actionable strategies to bring your vision to life. You’ll actually have tasks you can check off your to-do list that also move the needle forward on your goals.

  5. Heart and Accountability

Arguably the most important part of any coaching relationship, you want someone who cares about you, your goals, and your success. I’m not just here to give you information. I’m here to believe in you, pray for you, and walk with you as you take bold steps toward your calling.

Through coaching, we’ll build a business that’s as impactful as it is intentional. Together, we’ll build a business that glorifies God and gives you the freedom to live out your calling and without burning out.

Are you ready to take the next step?

We offer multiple ways to connect and pursue coaching at the Graceful Balance Collective:

  • For New Private Practice Owners: Our Faithful Foundations coaching program is the place to start if you’re dreaming of launching your own business but feel unsure where to begin. We’ll walk through every step together, from clarifying your niche and setting up systems to building a brand rooted in faith and attracting your first clients.

  • For Established Practitioners: Our Faithful Growth coaching program is the next level up for those who already have a solo practice and are ready to grow. Whether that means hiring a team, launching new services, or simply implementing systems to help you work smarter, we’re here to help.

  • 1:1 Coaching and Mentorship: Our mentorships are for those looking for personalized support that’s tailored to your goals, schedule and season. Whether you’re in the dreaming, launching, or scaling phase, these sessions provide focused support, accountability, and strategy grounded in faith.

  • Faith and Vision Retreats: You might have noticed that we offer Christian women’s retreats at GBC, but did you know we also offer retreats for therapists, coaches and wellness professionals? These intimate retreats are designed specifically for you as you build and grow your practice. You'll step out of your day-to-day roles to rest, reflect, and rediscover your “why.” These weekends include strategic planning sessions, Christ-centered movement and meditation, peer masterminding, and plenty of time to rest and relax.

As someone who knows what it is like to create and run a private practice (through all the trials, errors, and successes), I want to see more women who can confidently do the same. That’s why I created these coaching packages.

It’s also why I now lead retreats for women like you and me—women who work in the helping professions while also seeking intentional faith, caring for our families, pursuing full lives, and trying to have fun as well. You deserve a space where you can rest and be encouraged by women who get you.

You might be thinking, “All of this sounds great! But, I still have so many questions…” I understand that! I’d love to answer your questions and help you discover if coaching is the best next step for you. Let’s get chatting:
