7 Journaling Prompts for Gratitude
I know the word “thanks” is in the name for Thanksgiving, but sometimes it’s the last thing I think about this time of year.
Maybe you’re like me, and you get caught up in trying to prepare holiday gatherings and meals, choosing intentional gifts for your loved ones, or figuring out travel plans.
Sometimes the thankfulness of the season is lost on us.
But, gratitude is for more than this one holiday each year. When we think about the things we’re grateful for, it becomes harder to focus on the worries and anxieties that would otherwise fill our minds (like all those holiday plans).
Here are seven journaling prompts to consider this holiday season (or whenever you need a gratitude boost!):
What would it look like for you to live with a grateful heart?
How does being rooted in Christ allow you to more deeply experience gratitude?
What is one thing you often overlook this time of year that you can be grateful for?
Who are three people in your life that you are grateful for? Why?
Reflect on a challenge you've experienced in the last month (or even the last year) that brought you something positive.
List five things you're thankful for (one for each sense: touch, taste, sound, sight, and smell).
Write a prayer to the Lord thanking Him for your blessings!
You can go through these questions all at once or spread them out across multiple days or weeks. Revisit them as often as you like. I doubt that you’ll regret being grateful!
